Dear Members and Administrators of the Special Olympics in New York.
Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver leaves a legacy of giving voice and opportunity to those often overlooked in society. Her passion for justice is portrayed through her creation, the Special Olympics, which has given millions with intellectual disabilities an occasion to experience inclusion and acceptance.
Mrs. Shriver's personal achievements and voluntary service through programs such as the Special Olympics are proof of her lifetime of good citizenry. She was an outstanding individual, one that is worthy of the esteem of her local community, the great State of New York and the entire nation.
With Deepest Sympathy,
William B. Magnarelli
