A Letter from Yale University

I was very saddened to learn of Eunice's death. On behalf of the Yale community, I send you and your family our condolences. An extra ordinary champion for those with special needs, and the founder of the Special Olympics, your wife has left the world a better place.

Yale has long been proud of its numerous connections with the Shriver family and was pleased to present Eunice with an honorary degree in 1996. We continue to admire and appreciate her contributions to improving the lives of the mentally disabled and your contributions to building international peace.

My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

With sympathy and warmest regards.

Sincerely yours,

Richard C. Levin

President
