All of us in the farm worker movement and the Chavez family were deeply saddened by the passing August 11 of Eunice Kennedy Shriver. We cherish the bonds that have linked us with the Kennedy family, and particularly Sargent and Eunice Shriver, over nearly four decades. We have shared encouragement and support during times of challenge and peril. But throughout we have been bound together by common faith and values. Those links will continue living in our hearts.
All of us are keeping the Shriver family in our prayers.
