Dear Mr. Shriver

On behalf of Special Olympics Belize, the people of Belize and my husband, Hon. Dean Barrow, the Prime

Minister of Belize, I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family and the entire Special Olympics movement on the passing of your mother and the founder of the Special Olympics movement, Mrs. Eunice Kennedy-Shriver.

Mrs. Shriver has been a source of endless and untiring inspiration, who brought peculiar unity of purpose to all our lives irrespective of our status, race or creed. I still remember vividly, the way my little country of Belize was brought together and stood still, when the Government of Belize and Special Olympics International signed an agreement of mutual partnership to advance the rights of persons with intellectual disabilities in my country and appointed me as a Global Ambassador for Special Olympics. It was perhaps, one of the most uplifting events, I and my family ever participated in.

Once again, accept our heartfelt condolence, from the entire Special Olympics Belize family, the people and Government of Belize.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kim Simplis-Barrow

First Lady of Belize & Global Ambassador, Special Olympics International
