To our Special Olympics family,
Louisiana, along with the rest of the world, has lost a great visionary. Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver was a woman of true compassion and dynamic leadership. She persevered through difficult times, against odds, to show the world the abilities of those with intellectual disabilities. She has been a vital entity to the Special Olympics movement and her dream has grown to affect millions of people in hundreds of countries. Now is time to reflect and embrace her spirit. Each of us who has had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Shriver personally, or through the Special Olympics movement, has the opportunity to be her living legacy and continue to change the world.
