A Letter from University of Utah

Dear Senator Kennedy,

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of your dear sister Eunice. Suzan and I send our deepest sympathy on behalf of the entire University of Utah community.

Eunice was on all accounts a woman of remarkable substance and example. Her life has been an inspiration to all who have had the great fortune to know her, and to countless others for whom her generosity and charity have been quite literally life changing. I know firsthand the impact this good woman's open heart and inspired vision of service has had, as we are honored at the University to carry on her extraordinary legacy though the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Center for Community of Caring program. The selfless service and care this wonderful organization performs for the children and families of our nation celebrates Eunice's life in very real and meaningful ways. We honored to make it an indelible part of our University home.

Again, our personal and heartfelt condolences and warm personal regards to you and your family. I hope the memories you hold of time spent together will bring you comfort at this difficult time.

Sincerely yours,

Michael K. Young

President of the University of Utah
