I wish to express my most profound condolences on the death of Eunice. I remember acutely her personal feelings for the mentally disabled as well as those able to compete in the Special Olympics.
I remember vividly her personal visits to the home in Washington erected by the Kennedy Foundation. I saw her speaking tenderly with the patients eager to see the personal attention given to them by the staff. I have celebrated Mass for the response of her soul and I have no doubt that she is in heaven.
Be assured of my remembrance of you and your family in my Masses and prayers.
Sincerely in Christ,
Archbishop Philip M. Hannan
