A Letter from Special Olympics Nigeria

Dear Tim,

The entire Athletes, Families, Board and Staff of Special Olympics Nigeria commensurate with you on the passing on to glory of your mother and founder of Special Olympics Movement, Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver.

We celebrate the life of a woman of valor who fought for what she believed in, despite the challenges of her times. Her faith in people with intellectual disabilities has brought hope to many families and has put smiles on many faces of children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the world.

Though she fought a good fight of faith and has gone to be with the Lord, her vision will forever live in the hearts and minds of Special Olympics athletes, families, volunteers, sponsors and fans.

We hope that time and memories will help lessen the burden of your grief, and that you will draw some measure of comfort knowing that others care and share this moment with you and your family.

Victor Osibodu

Chairperson, Special Olympics Nigeria
