Dear Tim,

I am very saddened to learn about the passing of Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver. I have fond memories about working with her and the passionate organization she founded from my years serving at Civil Affairs Bureau to bring Special Olympics movement and East Asia Games to Shanghai, all the way to 2007 when we created the spectacular World Summer Games in Shanghai, China. She was an extraordinary woman who tirelessly campaigned for her belief to serve people with intellectual disability. Her passion and devotion will always inspire me.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My colleagues and I join you and the entire Shriver family to share Mrs. Shriver's dream of helping people with intellectual disability to reach their full potential. We will continue with our commitment to support Special Olympics movement.
